195 stitches and counting

I reached the required stitch number a couple of days ago but my FC looked a little small. (Not that it's actually all that easy to tell when it's all bunched up on the needle.)
Anyhow, the thing is as the yarn came from my stash (out of the box of granny gave me) I don't know what the yarn is and I had no idea how much (if any) it was going to grow by on blocking. The only answer was to knit and block a test swatch - and here is the result. It didn't grow at all!! Well, hardly at all. So, more repeats it is then.
195 stitches and counting ..... How big, is big enough?

It's a very pretty colour.... I think big enough is when you feel that knitting anymore repeats is a chore and you don't enjoy it.... I did 3 and was glad there wouldn't have been enough yarn left to do a 4th!!!!!

I just kept going till there was no yarn left. Please don't forget the lifelines - once you're too confident because you know the pattern so well, disaster may strike.

I also did 3 extra repeats and wish I perhaps I had done 1 or 2 more. I did have enough yarn but I really wanted to finish it. Also the more repeats, the more stitches to cast off - it takes a looong time! That is a lovely colour.

Sebskins, if you knew how much of this yarn I have left, you really wouldn't be saying that!! I've done 2 repeats and started the next but I think I might call it a day after that and do the border. If I decide it's not big enough, I'll put it in the Christmas pressie pile and give it away. I really want to get on and start another with my other yarn.
