Come in Number 2!

Forest Canopy Shawl No.2 is finished and blocked. This time I went for a solid colour and I love how clear the stitch definition is in a solid colour. I think I may prefer lace in a solid rather than variegated colours. I used Rowan 4ply Soft in Goblin (just over 2 balls and doing 3 extra repeats of the main body but 2 less rows of the border pattern) on 5mm Boyes. This only took about 4 days to complete - it is such a memorable pattern. SpringThings next I think.

Half Way

My first big knitting project and 1st lace, I'm hooked, thoroughly enjoying making this! I'm half way through my 5th repeat of the pattern.

Shaza update (at last!)

Here we go, my latest update!

I am at about 170 stitches so only another 25 and I am done on the repeats, however I still have a bit of yarn left and as it is looking so small! I may do a few more repeats before I bind off!

I am really liking the stripes now and it is getting even better now because the stripes are getting thinner, the further I get along!

Forest Canopy Shawl No. 3

another shawl knitted using my hand painted yarn.

Finished!

Well here it is, my first lace!

It is a lovely shimmery lilacy silvery colour, though you can't really tell from the pics I'm afraid.
I did two extra repeats, so it is quite big (that's my two seater sofa in the background).

It's just finished blocking, so it's on the back of the sofa now, looking pretty!
The yarn is Lana Grossa Luxor, with 51% Merino wool and 49% Polyester (that gives it the shimmer).
It was really lovely to work with - smooth and well behaved!
I did a first version of this, but went a stitch wrong somewhere near the end, and I had to frog the WHOLE thing!!
So.. I started again, and put lifelines in every repeat on the 8th row. These were a blessing on the couple of times that I dropped or missed a YO (twice), they aren't called "lifelines" for nothing!!
I am planning another FC in Rowan Tapestry in the red/orange/grey colourway - I'm totally addicted now! :D
Vikki

Shaza1974 shawl ......... at last!

At last here you go a piccie of where I am so far!
Have had to frog a few rows but it is coming on nicely.
Am really enjoying it, and hopefully will put loads of work on it this weekend!

sjl1974 logged out of AY forum

Wondering if anyone can help? I changed my email address on my profile in Angel Yarns and have now been locked out and can not log in again. I have even tried creating a new profile but that has yet to be approved!

Is it possible to post a thread, from SJL1974 saying thank you for all posts about the wedding etc, and I will reply when I am granted access again, which may only be in a few weeks! Thank you!

Before blocking.

All knitted up and now it's pinned out on the spare room floor blocking. In the end I only did an extra three repeats (243 stitches) as I'm itching to start another with some of my freshly dyed yarn. It measured 36 inches x 18 inches before blocking and I have stretched it to within an inch of it's life. So here's the "before" picture, the "after" will follow shortly.
